When elected Sheriff, James "David" Hathaway will promote the reality of Santa Cruz County, Arizona as a safe place to live, work, and visit! Don't believe the hype from the national media condemning this border area. Santa Cruz County is one of the safest counties in the state! Trade and friendly relations with Mexico are crucial to the economy and lifestyle of this county. David will work hard to maintain the concept of "Ambos Nogales" and to maintain cordial relationships with neighbors in Mexico. David will focus on the basics of law enforcement: violent crime and property crime. He believes that officers should should defend the constitution and uphold the principles of individual liberty and civil rights as peace officers He wants to preserve the concept of the local cop being your friend and your servant. David's campaign slogan is, "Un Vecino Respetuoso," which expresses his desire to implement the Golden Rule and to serve the whole community.
